Well done to STV for putting on this two-part programme, the second of which is next Thursday. Part one followed dog wardens in Birmingham and showed some of the situations they have to deal with. It was harrowing to see the way some people treat their dogs, and how this leads to dogs becoming dangerous:
NO WALKS
NO REWARD-BASED TRAINING
NO ENVIRONMENTAL STIMULATION
FEW GOOD ASSOCIATIONS WITH HUMANS
POOR, INADEQUATE NUTRITION
NO SOCIALISATION
It’s surprising there are not more instances of dog attacks when you look at this. And it’s wonderful that the media are taking this on board. We all too often criticise them for sensationalising incidents involving dogs, but here’s why it happens. Great stuff.
PEOPLE CAUSE DOGS TO BE DANGEROUS!!
